Font Monster Printing
Font Monster Printing was a sole-proprietorship commercial print shop that I was introduced to through my first graphic design internship at Lane Community College. Font Monster Printing, LLC is a sole proprietorship in which the owner desired to develop a professional brand with personality aimed to benefit businesses first and individuals second.
I began by conducting a client-intake survey and researching a variety of local print shop brands. As I started designing the brand, I took into account that the owner wanted a monster of some kind, being inspired by gargoyles and dragons. My challenge, though, was to ensure that the brand still carried professionalism to reach out to businesses, being that most local business brands speak with a levitas tone that markets to local consumers.
After several different logo directions, the owner took to the logo featuring an eyeball in “Monster.” This logo carries that levitas tone with the color palette and uses a humanist sans serif with very little contrast to give the logo a modern appeal. The final product is both professional but fun.
